Brenda began her massage career 17 years ago by following an intuitive nudge from the universe. She had been working in a mental health clinic as a case manager when something out of the ordinary happened. She had a vision. She literally saw herself giving someone a massage. A few weeks later she saw a notice on the local college marquee announcing a program in massage therapy. Two weeks later she was attending massage school. She studied a diverse curriculum including Swedish, Esalen and Asian modalities of massage.
Upon graduation she started a private practice out of her home in NH. In 2003 she moved to California and began working in spas. Eventually she became the lead massage therapist in a hotel spa.
While attending a continuing education class at Harbin Hot Springs in northern California she discovered Watsu and fell in love with water work. It wasn’t until her move to Maui in 2011 that she got the inclination to become a giver of Watsu. After all Maui is all about the water. When searching for a Watsu practitioner here on Maui she discovered the choices were limited. It was then that she decided to become a giver of this amazing work. Brenda is currently taking classes to become a teacher of Watsu and will offer classes at her pool in Kihei.
